A good first step into developer experience

When a developer joins your organization, they are in a highly impressionable state.

They are figuring out which tools to use, what their responsibilities are, and the technical details of the applications.

It can be a difficult time.

More importantly though, they are learning what life is like in this (your) organization

…or dis-organization?

They say first impressions are hard to shake, that they set the tone for the rest of the relationship.

Opinions can change but that takes time.

Why not start out in the best possible way?

A crisp on boarding process can make all the difference to the future productivity of that developer.

Don’t leave them to figure things out on their own. Don’t let them flounder.

A good metric for on boarding speed is to measure the time to 1st PR and 10th PR.

REPLY with your thoughts and questions.

Best,

Andre
