As promised…

Here are a few questions to ask your devs to better understand their struggles.

  • In an average week, how many times are you interrupted by unplanned work?
  • How many releases does your team deploy in an average month?
  • How productive have you felt in the last month? (Scale of 1 – 5)

The answers to these questions are easy to aggregate and understand.

With only these questions you can really begin to piece together how productive your developers and engineers are.

You can also pull a lot of good hypotheses from the answers to drill down deeper.

It’s important to understand what you’d like to learn before asking questions. Sometimes you might not hit the mark.

It’s supposed to be an interactive process

Don’t be afraid to experiment.

Best,

Andre
