Its amazing what can be achieved when you get people organized on the same goal.
I ran a workshop today for a group if engineers. To say that it was a success is an understatement.
This particular group had never been through something like this before and they were a little apprehensive.
After a few minutes though, everyone loosened up.
It was actually fun!
And the best part, it was highly productive.
The point of the workshop was to align the team to a common goal. Anything extra we came up with was an added bonus.
Well, we did that…and a lot more!
The common goal was to pivot to a new customer base (internal developers) and focus on how to best serve them.
In addition to that, we identified a key challenge, generated 5 high-impact ideas on how to solve this challenge, and then prioritized that list based on value.
The bottom line: huge success
Instead of a stuffy old meeting, where the loudest in the room dominate the conversation, where everyone goes round and round, and nothing gets done, try a workshop format.
Get the best out of EVERYONE in the room.
Get the best ideas to rise to the top.
Get real solutions to real problems.
Stop operating on assumptions that might work.
If you want this kind of success, run a workshop.
Best,
Andre
